Main

This recipe is a fantastic one for buffets or family gatherings. We used to use this recipe when I worked in wedding catering as both a canape and a main meal. It's not too hot, and any excess heat is well balanced out by the sweet flavours. Make this recipe with cocktail sausages for a simple snack or use the larger one for a hot dog with a twist. I have also made this with chicken and roast potatoes. Give it a try - I'm sure you'll love it.

Sweet chilli sausages

ingridients

  • 700g sausages

  • 4 Tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 2 Tbsp clear honey

  • 2 tsp mild chilli powder

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

Method

  • Heat oven to 220° (Gas 7). Arrange the sausages on a roasting tin in a single layer and bake for 10 minutes

  • Whilst the sausages are cooking, mix all the other ingredients together until the sauce is smooth. Add 1 Tbsp of water to the mix to loosen it up

  • Remove the sausages from the oven and pour the sauce over the top. Mix well to evenly coat them and bake for another 30 minutes

  • Serve
