Sausage Pie

The ultimate comfort food, sausage pie is one of my favourite easy to cook and cheap meals. It's a hearty meal that lifts your mood and warms you up.

Sausage Pie

ingridients

  • 5 sausages

  • 1 medium onion, sliced

  • Gravy granules

  • 1 Tbsp tomato puree

  • 3 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped

  • 100g mushrooms, sliced

  • 500ml red wine

  • 1 tsp garlic granules

Method

  • Heat a thick bottomed pan over a medium heat.

  • Boil a pan of water and cook the potatoes until soft

  • Add the sausages, mushrooms and onion with some oil and fry gently for five minutes

  • Add gravy granules and tomato puree to the sausage mix once it is well coloured. Mix well

  • Add the wine to the pan, reduce the heat and reduce slowly

  • Mash the potatoes

  • Put the sausage mix in a casserole dish. Put the potatoes on top. When ready to serve, warm through in the oven.
