Beef and broccoli noodles

30 minutes

Serves 4

This is one of my favourite quick meals to cook when I'm not feeling up to cooking or am in a rush. This simple Chinese dish is good for you and tastes great. Why waste your money getting a takeaway when you can make it at home for a fraction of the price?

Beef and broccoli noodles

  • 3 blocks egg noodles

  • 1 broccoli, cut into florets

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 500g stir fry beef strips

  • 1 spring onion, thinly sliced

  • For the sauce:

  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 Tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 Tbsp tomato ketchup

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 1 thumb sized piece of ginger, peeled and grated

  • 1 Tbsp white wine vinegar

  • Mix the sauce ingredients together in a bowl and whisk well to combine

  • Cook the noodles following the pack instructions. One minute before they are cooked add the broccoli

  • Meanwhile, heat the oil in a wok over a high heat. Stir fry the beef until brown.

  • Add the sauce to the wok and stir, leaving it to simmer a bit

  • Turn off the heat. Stir in the noodles and broccoli until well covered.

  • Garnish with the spring onions just before serving

  • Serve
